Morocco's business capital, home of the Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic shore.
Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and main international gateway. Its landmark, the Hassan II Mosque, stands on the shore with a minaret over two hundred metres tall, and it is one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non Muslim visitors on guided tours.
The city centre has fine Art Deco buildings from the early twentieth century, and the Corniche at Ain Diab has beach clubs and seafood restaurants. Trains run to Rabat, Marrakech and Fes.
The climate is mild all year thanks to the Atlantic.
